"For a week, I strolled up and down alone in a city, following rules that I my self first established for the occasion: Do not live «inside», always «outside», keep all autonomy capacities contained in a backpack (electricity, food, clothes), find free water (to shower and to drink), spend the day on the basketball playground and the night in the heights of scaffoldings, don’t communicate by phone, try to find internet free wifi acess communication between 10PM-11PM, and some electricty points to recharge. Briefly, reconsider all sources and networks of the City.
This social cut, with my family and friends, permitted me to explore others’ social networks, on the playgrounds, and into the streets. The disconnected electronic communication obliged me to find some open, free networks, and to get electric plugs to charge my equipment.
Lack of permanent shelter took the shape of a nocturn quest to find the high spot which covered me, sponging off my one-night-stand neighbours, squatting their wifi networks, and hearing their nocturn routine.
This parallel life, like a free electron, permitted me to test and to be in close contact with some relational circles for brief instants, following this repetitive pattern : I was accepted on a «free access» playground, then into a team, became the interlocutor and partner of a session, the unknown ear which listened to true life stories, a stalker ,a street observer.
Watch, look, seek and then climb into the heights for more security, more confidentiality, and more liberty."
